There are 3 major types of thermal switches in metal housing with switching temperatures from 50° to 200°C. Options for termination are solid or insulated lead wires in various lengths, but the standard is 100 mm.
Temperature sensitive
The most common type simply reacts to temperature: C4 (up to 2.5 amps) and C8 (up to 6.3 amps)
Temperature sensitive + self-holding
This type has an additional self-holding device:
K1 (up to 2.5 amps) and K8 (up to 6.3 amps)
Temperature sensitive + current sensitive
In addition, this type is also sensitive to increases in the temperature due to excess current:
C1 (up to 2.5 amps)
